Mick Ryan has worked at our Galway facility for 25 years. During this time, he has navigated life with undiagnosed ADHD and autism. After years of masking his true self, his diagnosis became a turning point. He describes it as a “big, shiny-light moment.”
Stories like Mick’s are crucial. They remind us that mental health and neurodiversity do not sit on the sidelines of work. They are part of the whole person who shows up every day. Acknowledging this is vital for fostering a supportive work environment.
Creating Safe Spaces
That’s why creating space to thrive matters. At our Galway campus, we understand the importance of mental health. We recently introduced Cubbie, a first-of-its-kind workplace installation. Cubbie is designed to help regulate anxiety and sensory overload. This innovation was born from listening to what employees truly need.
Cubbie provides a safe space for employees who may feel overwhelmed. It allows them to step back, recharge, and return to their tasks with renewed energy. This proactive approach demonstrates our commitment to mental well-being. It is essential to supporting all employees.
Why Neurodiversity Matters
Neurodiversity is a term that recognizes the variety of human neurological differences. It includes conditions such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and more. Embracing neurodiversity in the workplace can enhance creativity and productivity. When individuals feel accepted, they contribute their unique perspectives and skills.
